These 3 United teams from Greensboro NC root back as far as the 1970's. This is the oldest club team in NC and no doubt one of the oldest in USA! The United has played in the Veterans Cup the past 10 years and brings some of the most experienced and talented players out there.
In 2009 both the O55 and O60 United qualified for the final, but Texas took the title. In 2010, the O65 United won their division! Team Manager Kim Bergenser said that after 5 games and winning the tournament championship, all 18 players were healthy.
Bergenser has managed the team since 1985. He has played soccer in South Africa, Singapore, Indonesia, Belgium and Denmark, where he was born.
The above two are of the O65 GA/NC United – who won the 2010 O65 Veterans Cup division and all 5 games.
